First, a little about us. The Survivor Alumni Network was formed after two parents read two researchers' dissertations on why Title IX betrays the survivors it was intended to protect. Steve and Naomi reached out to Nicole Bedera (author of On the Wrong Side) and Jackie Cruz (who coined the term "orchestrated complexity") because the accounts they read in those projects so closely matched what their daughter had experienced when reporting to Title IX. We talked a lot about how there needed to be a fully independent place where survivors could get information about the unique challenges they might face after experiencing sexual violence in schools. After a while, we realized that we should be the ones to create the place that we wish existed.

We are excited to announce that we are going to begin with forming a multi-generational activist coalition! One of the main conversations we return to over and over is about how the next generation of campus activists shouldn't have to reinvent the wheel. We want to create a place where activists can be in community with each other, share knowledge, and strategize as a group to end campus sexual violence. Over the next year, we plan to launch additional coalitions to support on-campus victim advocates and civil rights attorneys who represent sexual violence victims. (Each of those links will also connect you to a form to join the appropriate email list.)
